The Great Barrier Reef from Cairns to Lizard Island is Recognised worldwide as the undisputable heavy weight Marlin capital of the world. "New Moon II and now New Moon are recognised internationally as top catchers on the Barrier Reef.

Black Marlin aggregate between Lizard Island and Cairns from September to early December and more 1000lb Marlin are caught in these waters than the rest of the world put together. Preferred methods in Australia are rigged dead bait trolling, live-baiting and lures. Tackle consists of 80lb and 130lb Penn and Shimano Tackle as well as stand up 50lb if that's your preference. There are several different ways to experience the fishing trip of a life time.

Day Trips
If you are on a limited time schedule day trips ex Cairns are available. Fishing takes place outside the Great Barrier Reef between Linden Bank and Jenny Louise Shoal about a 2 hour ride from the marina.

Day Trips Lizard Island

Live-on-board Extended Charters
(2 - 10 days) For up to 4 people, anchor in one of the many anchorages inside the Barrier Reef. Snorkel, light tackle or popper fish for Giant Trevally in the morning, heavy tackle in the afternoon. For the serious fisherman.
